Homework 3

Instructions:

1. Open the JMP software application. It is available through the CBA Virtual Desktop: CBALAB.
2. From BB:JMP Resource option, navigate to the “JMP Learning Library”, then to the “Graphical Displays and Summaries” in the JMP help library to reproduce:

1. 1. Frequency Distribution (companies.jmp data) using Distribution
   2. Bar Chart (companies.jmp data) using Graph Builder
   3. Pie Chart (companies.jmp data) using Graph Builder
   4. Pareto Chart (failuressize.jmp data) using Pareto
   5. Pie Chart (failuresize.jmp data) using Pareto
   6. Tree Map ((failuresize.jmp data) using Graph Builder
   7. Mosaic Plot (car poll.jmp data)

1. For each of the 7 Charts:
   1. Capture all 7 graphics in a Word document 15
   2. Describe what each graph illustrates with the data. Was the graphic selected appropriate for the data? Any alternative graphics work better? What changes would you recommend making the “story” of the data clearer?15
2. Demonstration of the production of the charts is available in the JMP Resources: “JMP Learning Library”, then to the “Graphical Displays and Summaries” in the JMP help library to reproduce. Review these videos or help documents as necessary.

Your document should be no more than 7 pages in length, single-spaced, with one-inch margins, using times new roman 12-point font.

NOTE: NO JPEG FILES ACCEPTED.  A single word document should be your submission.
